Fabulous First Grade Year!

It's hard to believe that the year is coming to an end.  Last Friday we celebrated all of the girls' accomplishments in First Grade this year, and it was nice to see so many families at our picnic.  We want to say a special thank you to Jen Habashi and Kerri Kerr who made our picnic such a success and also served as wonderful class parents throughout the year.  Patti Ephraim did a wonderful job planning fun and memorable games for all of the girls.

It's been a great year, and we know that the girls have a lot to be proud of.  They are ready for next year!  Have a safe and fun summer!

French: Buying Ice Cream

The first grade girls have been learning to order food in French.  This week they worked on buying ice cream in French, and next week they will pretend to be at Berthillon, a Famous French ice cream shop.  I will be serving real ice cream to the girls on Monday for Mrs. Pohlhaus' class and Tuesday for Ms. Lacy's class and Ms. Gandhi's class.  They will have a choice of chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla ice cream.  If this will be a problem for your daughter, please let me know so that we can work together to make other accommodations.  They have all been learning to say:

Je voudrais la glace au chocolate/ à la vanille/ aux fraises s'il vous plaît.

Here is a short clip of the girls practicing in class today.

Happy May!!

We are so happy to see sunshine after a rainy April.  The weather did not dampen our spirits yesterday for our field trip.  The girls explored many collections at the Walters' Chamber of Wonders.  The bus ride is always a thrill and then back to school to celebrate all of the spring birthdays.
